For Middle School Woodwind students entering grades 6 – 9 in the Fall of 2025 who want to improve their instrumental and ensemble skills. Open to Flute, Oboe, Clarinet, Bass Clarinet, Bassoon, Alto Saxophone, Tenor Saxophone, & Baritone Saxophone students. The Camp will feature masterclasses and rehearsals on instrumental technique & ensemble rehearsals, concluding with a concert performance on Friday, June 20 at Noon in the SJSOTA Recital Hall at 1157 Market Street, Williamsport, PA 17701.

Meet the Instructors


  • Anthony Fortuna is a woodwinds specialist and orchestral director that resides in the Williamsport, PA area. Fortuna currently serves as the director of The Central Pennsylvania Youth Orchestra in addition to being the director of Orchestras for the Lewisburg Area School District. Fortuna possesses a bachelors of music in music education from Marywood University, a masters degree in woodwind performance/pedagogy from Ohio University, and doctoral work in woodwind performance, pedagogy, and literature at James Madison University. Fortuna has performed regionally on various woodwind and string instruments with several professional ensembles such as the Lycoming College Community Orchestra, Northern Tier Symphony, Wyoming Seminary Civic Orchestra, NEPA Lyric Opera, and the Northern Appalachian Wind Symphony. In his spare time, Fortuna enjoys playing video games, cooking, and spending time with his cat, Fledermaus.

    Born and raised in Williamsport, PA, Dr. Sheila DuMont is a versatile performer who made her Carnegie Hall debut in February 2020 as piccolo soloist with the Penn State Symphonic Wind Ensemble. She has performed locally with the Northern Appalachian Wind Symphony, the Great Lakes Wind Symphony, Penn Central Wind Band, Lycoming Baroque Choir and Orchestra, and others. Also comfortable on baroque flute, she has been featured as traverso soloist with the Penn State Baroque Orchestra, a performance which can be heard on WPSU radio’s In Performance at Penn State. She regularly performs with her professional flute quintet, Blue Ridge Flutes, which most recently appeared upon request at the Chinese Embassy’s New Year Gala event in Washington D.C.

    As an up-and-coming clinician, Sheila regularly appears at the Pocono Flute Society's flute camps, taught masterclasses at Penn State University and for members of UC Santa Barbara’s flute studio, has been a guest clinician at Mansfield University’s flute camp, and served as competition judge for the Mid Atlantic Flute Society.

    ​Sheila holds a Bachelor of Music in flute performance from Mansfield University of Pennsylvania, as well as Master of Music in flute performance and Master of Arts in musicology from The Pennsylvania State University. As of May 2023, she has earned her Doctor of Musical Arts in flute performance from Shenandoah Conservatory, where she studied with former London Philharmonic principal flutist, Jonathan Snowden.

    ​As a musicologist, Sheila’s main areas of research include women composers of the baroque era, as well as the French Inter-war period with special focus on the flute works of Claude Arrieu. Past university positions include Penn State University, Shenandoah Conservatory, and Blue Ridge Community and Technical College. She is the founder of the Williamsport Flute Choir, now in its 10th year, and maintains a private flute studio teaching students of all ages.

    When not playing music, Sheila enjoys spending time with her pets and family, completing the NY Times crossword, and baking.
